The Nexus 320 Automatic System is an upgrade kit that fully automates the regular cleaning cycle of a pump-fed Nexus 320 pond filter, eliminating the need for manual operation of valves and pumps. The system uses an electronic control box with a timer to manage the process, allowing for hands-free maintenance

Overview of the Automatic Cleaning Process

The automation system handles all the key steps of the cleaning cycle, which typically lasts around 10 minutes.
Initiation: An adjustable timer, factory-set to every three days (but can be changed from once an hour to every 10 days), triggers the cleaning cycle. A manual cleaning can also be started with a button on the control box.

Pump Shutdown: The control box automatically switches off the main circulating pump.
Water Level Equalization: The water level inside the Nexus filter equalizes.

Media Cleaning (Eazy): Air is diverted from the outer biological chamber to the inner mechanical (Eazy) chamber, causing the K1 Micro media to vigorously agitate and dislodge trapped solid waste.

Waste Removal: After the agitation phase, an automated waste valve opens, and the Eazy chamber is drained to a waste outlet.

Return to Filtration: The waste valve closes, air is redirected back to the outer bio-chamber, the circulating pump is switched back on, and the system resumes normal filtration.

Key Features

Hassle-Free Maintenance: Automates the previously manual process of turning ball valves and switching pumps off and on.

Easy Installation: The kit is designed to be easily installed on post-2006 Nexus 320 models, which come "auto ready" with factory-fitted fixings.

Electronic Control: An electronic control box manages all components, including the automated waste valve and air pump control.

Adjustable Frequency: The frequency of the cleaning cycle can be customized to suit specific pond requirements, which also assists with performing regular water changes.

Water Exchange: Each cleaning cycle sends a certain amount of water (e.g., around 200 litres for the Nexus 320) to waste, contributing to recommended weekly water changes.

An automatic top-up system is recommended to compensate for this water loss.
This system ensures crystal clear and healthy pond water with minimal user intervention.
