The Sanke, also known as Taisho Sanke, is a classic and highly esteemed variety of Japanese Koi Carp, celebrated for its elegant tricolour pattern. They are one of the "Big Three" along with Kohaku and Showa.
Sanke feature a pure white body adorned with bold red (hi) markings and striking black (sumi) spots. The hallmark of this variety is the clean, snow-white base combined with vibrant red patches and crisp black accents, which appear on the body.
Sanke are prized by collectors and enthusiasts for their balanced, harmonious patterns and strong visual impact. The best examples display a bright, unblemished white base, deep and evenly distributed red markings, and well-placed, glossy black spots.
